O documento descreve a história do D-Lab Brasil de 2003 a 2009. Durante esse período, o D-Lab realizou projetos de desenvolvimento sustentável em comunidades no Brasil, como Xingó, Canuanã e Bodoquena, focando em melhorias na água, saneamento, agricultura e empreendedorismo. O D-Lab também realizou trabalhos em cidades como Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo e Macaé.

Main issue: some members of community produced artifacts but didn’t know how to sell them. Goal: to encourage enterprise, to help these people understand what it will take to star their businesses. Also, to help the others in the community understand how to manage their finances, and save for the future.
